ArtyInkings Spring Challenge my entry!

This was a fun challenge from Anita over at ArtyInklings (AKA Swantstich). Unfortunately at the time I didn't have any small cardboard boxes, however I did have a nice little metal hinged one.  My first thought when I saw Anita's challenge was to get out the alcohol inks, and then I got carried away with other stuff and by the time I finally got round to working on my entry I had, had a completely different idea.  Now the idea was to keep it small, and ideally not go bigger than 3"x4". Well I certainly managed that.  The box is about 2"x3"!  Here is my little box followed by brief instructions.

I wish I hadn't forgotten to take a photo before I started work on it but I just get so excited when I have an idea I have to get on with it and only afterwards do I think oh!! Should have taken a photo first!!

Firstly I put a strip of adhesive lace on the tin and then covered it all with two coats of gesso

Then out came the stencils and the texture paste, this is cosmic shimmer in gold! Not grunge paste for a change lol!

I initially was going to paint it but in the end used Tim Holtz distress strain spray in Wild Honey, which I have to admit worked surprisingly well!!
I added a Tim Holtz ideaology philosophy tag a couple of metal leaves which I had added some cosmic shimmer gilding wax to, added a little pair of scissors and finally made up a mini tattered floral flower from my stash and sprayed that with perfect pearls.

Hope you like it as much as I do.
As always thanks for visiting and do leave your comments
Take care
